Qatar's Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani's said Doha still has no clue why Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE cut their diplomatic and transport ties with the country last week. But he expressed support for attempts by Kuwait to act as a mediator in the diplomatic rift.
During his visits to Europe, the foreign minister denounced the sanctions imposed against Doha by Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries as "unfair" and "illegal".
Earlier, Saudi Arabia and several neighboring countries announced the suspension of all ties to Qatar because of what they called Qatar's support for extremist groups and its political proximity to Shiite Iran. Qatar denies the allegations.
