China and Singapore plan to bolster economic ties under the Belt and Road Initiative under a new deal signed between the two nations this week.
The cooperation deal was signed by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan on Monday in Beijing. It covers finance and better connectivity, among others.

The agreement for closer cooperation is expected to help channel financing and other resources better for projects on the Belt and Road route.
