Top Chinese artists have been honored at the 2nd China Arts Award in the capital Beijing. In a glittering ceremony held in the Great Hall of the People, artists from various fields, ranging from writing, song and calligraphy were recognized for their contributions.
An event organized by the Ministry of Culture. Tibetan vocalist Tsenten Dolma, drama artist Zhulin, calligrapher Shen Peng among the 10 artists to be awarded the "lifetime achievement award".

"I feel embarrassed because I don’t think I’m worthy. Lots of people worked harder than me. This will galvanize me to work harder in the future." said Zhou Xiaoyan, Vocalist.
China’s Nobel Prize winner Moyan was also awarded for his achievements in literature.
"I would like to thank everyone! I am honored to win this award. This will encourage me to put the past behind me, settle down and try my best to produce quality works. This is the best way to repay the honor given to me." said Mo Yan, Writer.
The nominees were evaluated by a panel of judges beginning as early as May this year. All the awards are the product of careful deliberation.
Although only into its second year, the China Arts Award has already attracted national attention. Many look to it as a key indicator of the latest cultural achievements of China.
