Seven people were killed and another one was critically injured in a pile-up on Monday morning on a highway in East China's Anhui Province, said local police.

At about 6 am, a people carrier crashed into a truck on a section of the highway near Xuancheng city. Eight people trapped in the car were rescued and sent to hospital, said local police.
约清晨6时，一辆多人运输车在宣称段高速路上与一辆卡车相撞，被困车内的8名乘客已被送往医院。
Seven of them, including the driver and two children, were confirmed dead at the hospital.
其中7人，包括司机和两名小孩已确认在医院死亡。
As of 2 pm Monday, the injured passenger was still in a critical condition.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
