A mother surnamed Chen performed a rare feat after she delivered twin daughters on February 27 in the city of Yichang, Central China’s Hubei Province, six days after having a boy.

Chen’s contractions had stopped after her 1.44-kilo son was born prematurely on February 21.
2月21日，陈妈妈顺利生下一名1.44公斤重的早产男婴，之后她就停止了宫缩。
Her obstetrician, Chen Aihua, decided to postpone the delivery of the twin girls to provide them more time in their mother’s womb.
她的妇产科医生陈爱华（音）决定推迟这对双胞胎女婴的分娩时间，好让她们在妈妈肚子里多待一些时间。
All three babies are in neonatal intensive care units due to premature and low birth weight.
由于早产和体重过低，三个宝宝都在新生儿重症监护病房接受照顾。
The obstetrician Chen said she had never performed such a delivery in her 20 years of practice.
陈爱华医生表示说，在她20多年工作中从未见过这种分娩情况。
She also explained the delivery was made possible in part because the twin girls and the boy had separate placentas.
她还表示说此次分娩之所以成功，部分原因是因为双胞胎女婴和那名男婴都有单独的胎盘。
The mother, whose age was not reported, became pregnant with the triplets after undergoing a fertility treatment.

She had married her husband in 2012, and the couple had not been able to conceive.
