Typhoon Nepartak has battered southern China’s Fujian province, bringing with it torrential rain and winds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.
The first typhoon of the year caused traffic chaos and significant damage to residential buildings. Nepartak was downgraded to a tropical depression on Sunday morning and will keep moving north to Jiangxi, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. China's meteorological authority has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in the region.
