The first round of a comprehensive economic dialogue between China and the United States will be held on July 19 in Washington DC.
The two sides will exchange views on economic and trade issues of common concern during the discussion, said Geng Shuang, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his US counterpart Donald Trump first brokered the idea on the sidelines of the recently concluded G20 summit in Hamburg, Geng said.
Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, and US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will co-chair the talks.
