A new round of talks to solve the crisis in Syria has officially begun in Geneva.
The U.N. envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, had the first official meeting with the Syrian government delegation Monday. Their second meeting is scheduled for Wednesday. This new round of negotiations will run through March 24.
They were suspended last month amid an upsurge in violence in Syria. The talks might be the best chance in years to end the war that has left at least 250,000 people dead, and millions of refugees.
