The spokeswoman for the National People's Congress also answered questions about China's national budget and military reform.
"When China formulates its own defense budgets, we consider the following: first its defense needs; second, its economic development; and third, its fiscal position. This year, the Chinese military budget will continue to increase, but the increase will be smaller compared with last year. That will be around 7 to 8 percent. Talking about Chinese military during the September 3rd parade last year, President Xi Jinping said that the Chinese PLA will faithfully fulfil its duty of protecting the national security and people's well being, and carry out the noble mission of upholding world peace. The ongoing military reform, is aimed at better achieving these goals," Fu said.
