Hong Kong remains on high alert for the Ebola virus after a false alarm. Here in Beijing, the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control says the capital has the ability to respond to any outbreak of Ebola and has stepped up quarantine inspections.
Health care institutions at all levels in Beijing have undergone training and laboratories in the city are capable of detecting the virus. The announcement comes after a Hong Kong woman tested negative after returning from a trip to Kenya with symptoms of the deadly virus.
