韩国总统朴槿惠专访
Chinese President Xi Jinping is to start a two-day visit to South Korea from Thursday. This is the first time that Xi will visit just one country during his tour.
Before his arrival, CCTV reporter Shui Junyi has an exclusive interview with the South Korean President Park Geun-hye. The President spoke of her expectations from President Xi’s visit and the complementarity between the Chinese and South Korean dream.
"Both China and South Korea had a new government at approximately the same time,” Park said.
"Huge progress has been made in various areas. We also carried out close coordination on the security issues of the Korean Peninsula. The cooperation in economic sectors has also expanded. The connection and friendship between the peoples from both sides is also strengthening through cultural communication. My visit to China last year provided an opportunity for both to have close ties. And I believe that President Xi Jinping's visit to South Korea will produce fruitful and solid outcomes."
"The Chinese dream and South Korean dream are interlinked. The South Korean dream is to pursue a new era of national happiness. I think the goal of both dreams is the same, and that is an important reason for the two of us to strengthen cooperation. The rivers in China flow from west to east and end in the Yellow Sea, while rivers in South Korea flow from east to west and end in the West Sea. I hope the Chinese dream and South Korean dream can come together and become the northeast Asian Dream."
